Jackie Price Dunn Memorial Scholarship

Jackie Price Dunn was a founding  Alpha member of the Eta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta at Texas A&M Univerisy. Jackie was an amazing person and we are so blessed that we get to call her a sister.

Jackie graduated with honors from Texas A&M in 2002 with a degree in Industrial Engineering and then obtained her Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering. In addition to KD, Jackie used her numerous talents around campus. She was actively involved as an officer of the Class Council to the Memorial Student Center, graduate school representative to the Student Senate, a member of the Silver Spurs, Wesley Foundation, United Campus Ministry, and Christ United Methodist Church’s choir and youth ministry. After graduation Jackie married an officer in the military and spent years traveling and living around the world while working for the military as an engineer.

During her travels, Jackie enjoyed exploring her passions of mentoring/empowering women of all ages, playing guitar, Muay Tai Kickboxing, marathons, and cycling to name a few.  Jackie was a a determined, talented woman who understood God’s love and shared it with everyone she met.  Jackie left us after a cycling track race accident in June 2013. Even in her passing, Jackie was giving/caring about others – she saved 6 lives by being an organ donor.

She has touched so many of our lives and we’re moved to do something as big and bright as she was to help her legacy live on. As a group we’d like to help raise money for her endowed scholarship at Texas A&M as well as work with the Kappa Delta National Foundation to set up an endowed memorial scholarship in her name.

She truly stood for our KD motto “that which is honorable, beautiful and highest.”

There are two ways to donate in honor of Jackie through Kappa Delta:

1. The Kappa Delta Foundation’s “Jackie Price Dunn Memorial Scholarship” via their website.

This Scholarship will be given to an Eta Alpha member who is majoring in STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) and who was passionate leader in campus activities.

You can also contribute by ordering a shirt in Jackie’s memory that we will wear at various fundraising events in the near future (more on fundraising tab).
